Good Friends

It was light and it was buoyant

It was only for a split second but I enjoyed it

Usually it is in the morning

But today it was tonight

I looked at the sky and it didn’t scare me too bad

To think about what was behind all that

It was not a particular person, nor was it a particular thing

Just simply that I was existing

Without thinking about me being

Who knew the night and I could be such good friends

I used to think the dark meant I was closer to being dead

But today it was tonight and I was ok with that

Since I looked at the sky and it didn’t scare me too bad
